For Those with Metal in Their Veins...

FEATURED ARTIST - JOSE ROBLES of ANOTHER BLACK DAY

Interview by Downshifter

Metal Monthly recently had the opportunity to speak with Jose Robles (bass player AKA Das Haas) of Another Black Day

Metal Monthly:  Hey Jose of Another Black Day, Thank you for your time and for a little Q&A, and Welcome To The Most Bad Ass Site on the Net, Metal Monthly Dot Com

Another Black Day: Thanks for having us; we are honored to be featured on your website.

Metal Monthly: And We are honored to have you...Tell us about your Band, Lineup?

Another Black Day: The current lineup is: Angel Hernandez on Drums, Das Haas on Bass, Ernesto Paez on Guitar and Matt Wilkof on Vocals/Guitar. Ernesto joined the band in the summer of 2007. The rest of band has been together since early 2004.

Metal Monthly: Cool...and What is going on with you guys these days?

Another Black Day: These days we have been on the road with Drowning Pool & Egypt Central to promote our upcoming release. We are having a blast and gaining new fans every night. Also are getting ready to play at some big radio festivals this summer.

Metal Monthly: Awesome...You guys are Based Out of  Ft. Lauderdale Florida, What is in the water down there? Florida continues to put out some of the best bands, Many of my fav' are from there. In the 80's you had Los Angeles, San Francisco, And New York City...but right now Florida Owns! your thoughts?

Another Black Day: There have been a few notable bands out of South Florida, but these days the metal music scene down here has been very fickle. We have had some good shows but the metal clubs are pretty scarce.

Metal Monthly:  I thought Florida was all the Buzz... so what is the Biggest Crowd you have played to?

Another Black Day:  Hmmm, we do not know the exact numbers but I would say approx. 1,000 to 1,200. We love playing live so regardless if it is for 100 people or 1,000 people we give it 150%.

Metal Monthly: Sweet!.....You Guys have a great Label to Back you... How did that come about?
Another Black Day: After we recorded our self-financed EP at the BBR studios we got the call that every aspiring musician dreams of. We met with Aaron & Jason in the winter of 2007 and the rest is history in progress.
We are very fortunate to have The Bieler Bros. backing us. They are really taking care of us and we believe we have the right team in place to take us to the next level.

Metal Monthly: Awesome, and I think you are well on your way to the next level...How important is the internet these days in promoting your music?

Another Black Day: The internet is a double edged sword, you loose album sales due to piracy, but it can also be an invaluable tool in spreading your music around the world. It also helps independent bands make a name for themselves where it would be almost impossible to do without the internet.

Metal Monthly: When you were growing up what music did you listen to?

Another Black Day: We all have different musical influences but we take these differences and mash them together to get our sound.

Metal Monthly: Were you in any bands before?

Another Black Day: All of us had at one time or another have played in other bands over the years.

Metal Monthly: What was the feeling when you first rehearsed as a group, Did you all get along in the beginning?

Another Black Day: We have always been a tight unit. Musically and personality wise!

Metal Monthly: Thats cool...Do you guys have a MySpace site?

Another Black Day: Yes we do, you can check us out on MySpace by visiting myspace.com/ablackday.  We are always on it even when we are on the road.

Metal Monthly: What can we expect, touring wise after the release of your debut?

Another Black Day: I’m sure we will be hitting it pretty hard to support the release. So expect to see us at a shithole near you!!!! Just kidding.

Metal Monthly: Hey My Whole City is a Shit Hole...So Who is the one musician who has had the biggest influence on your playing style? Who is the one individual who has had the biggest influence on your life?

Another Black Day: That’s too hard to pinpoint. We are influenced by a huge array of musicians. You can hear all the influences when you listen to our music.

Metal Monthly: Your Dream tour would consist of Another Black Day, and? ? ?

Another Black Day: METALLICA!

Metal Monthly: Awesome...Hey Thanks So Much for your time, is there anything else you would like to plug or add for our readers?
