Hey friends! all good, thanks for this interview

So how does it feel to win the Metal Monthly Battle of The Bands?

Awesome! thanks to all who vote! this is a great opportunity for us to be heard

Did you think you would win it?

No, many good bands were in the contest (Vainglory, Badmouth and more good bands)

How did Blood Exile come together?

Back in 2005, 3 crazy metalheads wanted to play some thrash metal...

Who are your main influences in music?

From Thrash Metal to Progressive Rock, we have a lot of influences: Megadeth, Metallica, Testament, Slayer, Pantera, Death, Iron Maiden, BLS, Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Dream Theater..Among others.

What comes first in the song writing process, the music or the lyrics ? Please describe how your music comes together ?

You know...its kinda weird because sometimes we just jam together and the riffs and ideas start to jump right away, the most of the time we wrote the music first and then we start doing the lyrics.

At what point would you say that you have reached your goals in music ?

That point would be when we have toured the world and when we earn a place in the peoples minds & hearts, but our short-time goal will be record our first album and have some gigs internationally.

I definitely hear a lot of your influences in your music. However, you are unique, so what exactly is it that separates Blood Exile from other Bands ?

Yeah, thanks! we think that we don't copy the style of anyone out there, our music its pure and sincere and we don't put barriers to that, we have our style, playing with thrash and some prog elements like odd time signatures and not just play plain and simple thrash. (that don't have anything wrong!) ( we do not claim be Dream Theater, Death or something like that..) Hopefully we get better with the time and practice.

Do you plan on recording in the near future?

Definitely, no matter the cost! we are looking for a label and opportunities to spread our music

Have any touring planned for this year?

We're rehearsing our songs and working in new music, we wanna play everywhere! but we don't have the support to do it, hopefully we can do some gigs in this year, invite us!

If you could choose one national band to tour with, who would it be and why?

Deathpils (www.myspace.com/deathpils) because they are our friends and they play some kickass music! if you got the time go and check out this guys!

Where do you guys hope to be five years from now?

Hopefully playing every corner of the world and having fun

What's the wildest thing that has happened to you guys ?

Hahaha, one time we got caught by the police smoking pot and drinking in some beach hotel room! (DONT DO IT KIDS!)

Tell everyone why people should listen to Blood Exile ?

We have sincere and NOT pretentious music, we stay true to our influences and try to add some spice of our style to it, listen to us and hopefully think alike.

Being from Mexico, what is the Metal scene like there ?

Here in Mexico (at least in our city,state) thrash its death.. but there's a lot of good bands! and all the bands in here continue dreaming, hopefully we can reach our goals
