Crazy Lixx. Yeah. What a name huh ? But hey, if it's all about the music, then what about that ? HELL YEAH. This serving by the Lixx crew is most definitely up to par with some of the finest in rock out there. But that's not to say that this is strictly a rock band with a 12 song rock CD. This release has some straight up rockers like ' Rock and a Hard Place' and 'My Medicine' and it's got some classic style ballads like ' What of Our Love' and 'Blame It on Love' (naturally since they both contain the keyword: love) but it's also got some tunes that really have an edge to them. Songs like 'Lock Up Your Daughter' and ' The Witching Hour' take their rock a notch higher and let loose with some damn near metal material that is quite simply kick ass. Overall, New Religion has a very good feel to it and carries you on a ride through a wide array of styles while still having that signature element that is the Crazy Lixx. The only thing keeping this from 5 Stars is the '21 Till I Die' attempt at an anthem. Sure it's cool. But not everyone really feels like they'll be 21 till they die so it's hard to relate. Still, this CD is damn good. It rocks. No doubt. It's a bit of hell in a heavenly CD. Call it a NEW RELIGION.
