Released in late 2008 this CD is just as great as the first day it was unleashed upon the public. The Disc opens with "Titans of Speed", which is an intro that is as ethereal and subtle as it is powerful. Titans sets you up for a very cool ride that focuses on some hard metal primarily but dares to venture into the ballad zone. The power tunes like Rob Rock's signature "I'm a Warrior" and the title track "Sons of Thunder" make this well worth the price of admission. And let's go ahead and add "Never Give Up" and "Tears That I Cry" to the audio assault list. This band produces the power, and they deliver equally as well on the slow songs. "Change of Heart" and "I Believe in Love" are ballads that hold their own on this collection by having the underlying power of solid musicianship that aptly conveys the emotions of lyrical lament and revelation. Led by the awe inspiring multi octave range of Rob Rock and the outstanding versatile guitar work of Roy Z. Driver has produced a CD in 'Sons of Thunder' that is the epitome of what truly excellent metal music is all about. This is a must have for any true metal or hard rock enthusiast. When Driver gets into gear they really are in a league all their own.
