Fifi Larue ! How are you brother ?!
I'm doing very well thank you...
I gotta start off by saying you really made your mark when you stood up to Sheila E. on 'The Next Great American Band ' in front of millions ? Was there anything involved in that "dispute" that they didn't show on television ?
I think there alot of passion going on there... between us! Anyways we performed without a guitar player that day I don't think the judges give us enough prop's for doing that! like the saying go's "The Show Must Go On!" no matter who can't do it! luckly three of my other members did it! and I actually thought we "Shined" on the audition.
It seemed to me she was more than a bit rude. But what I truly appreciated about that encounter was your attitude. You epitomized what the rock/metal genres are all about in that you fought back for the music, the look and the lifestyle you believe in. I actually stood up and cheered for you bro.
Thanks! and I think about 100,000 other people did too. that's how many hit my web-site WWW.FIFILARUE.COM that first week the show aired. and I and my other bands members are playing and doing the music week like so, no matter what someone tells us! were not going to stop! Ha! like Dee Snider says "YOU CAN'T STOP ROCK N' ROLL!"
The Next Great American Band people loved it right ?
As far as the producers go... out of 7,000 bands on 60 got picked and FIFI LARUE was one of those bands that go picked to go to Las Vegas...and I'm sure the producers loved us! I mean at the tapping after the audition all the other bands actually applauded! after we played and talked to the judges... they thought it was very cool that I said what I said to the judges... I was saying all kinds of stuff that day! It's the "CLOWN MAN" in me coming out!
I mean, you actually made another appearance on the show right ?
Halloween night! The Producers gave me a brief Spot light on me at the third show... It was fun do you hear the crowd cheers in the audience... it was great! Dominic said "WE HAVE A FAMOUS GUESTS HERE TONIGHT!" and he was right! it was "The Gothic Killer Clown Of Rock n' Roll!" FIFI LARUE
I caught you on the Search for Elvira show. Do you personally handle your own publicity ?
Yes! FIFI LARUE does eveything basically on my own with the help of my musicians in my band... I send press kits out to about everyone in the biz' and every now and then I do get a bite...
For those that might be living in a cave and yet have access to the internet...
I think everyone has access to the internet now! one way or another...FIFI LARUE is The Gothic Killer Clown Of Rock n' Roll! I'm here to Save "HEAVY METAL" and bring it back! with theatrics and bring it to the clubs and someday into the Arenas and keep it ALIVE!
Tell us a bit about The Gothic killer Clown :
I used to be in the Glam Rock scene back in the 80's and live the life! that much people don't believe ever happen... but, it was a crazy time and and great time... and I think for FIFI LARUE that time has come again to bring back that experience back to the music scene...something is really missing it todays music scene and I think it's "FIFI LARUE"
How involved are you in the overall production of your CDs ?
I put all the pea's into the pot! I write just about all my songs also collaborate with my musicians in my band too... and they bring in their creations and materials too and we make something great out of it! it's not all about- FIFI LARUE in this band... it's about all the musicians that play with me too... as far as the Cd goes I got all the special guest musicians to play on it! we use my own studio to record almost everything on it! and also, with the help of my friend and bandmate Andy Monic with his editing and co-writing this Cd came out very well... I can't wait to do another one soon...
Your vocals are reminiscent of a time when Rock was pure, raw, and just plain fun. Music today has split up into so many
genres and sub gentres it's outrageous, And now we've got Industrial Death Metal.What's your opinion of today's music scene ?
Theres too much "COOKIE MONSTER" vocals going around! I think I'm in "Sesame Street" or something? when I hear this kinda stuff! I give prop's for the first bands that came up with it! but, it's like all the other bands can't create something new... so, they all fallow the leader or something like that? Know I'm doing what I want to do! I'm writing songs and material to be played on Local Radio Stations and T.V. shows and I do want to be heard by everyone... when you play Death Metal and that kinda stuff... only a few people are going to want to hear that kinds stuff...just ask Sheila E! she knows... Ha!
And how about the people in the Band ?
I have very great musicians in my band and good friends of mine too... They all are very Pro-musicians so, they don't have to carry Egos around with them! because they all know their good...
Who are they ?
Andy Monic - is the Crow like character who plays Bass and Bass Synth at times and background vocals too...
El Diablo- the guys who looks like the Devil? play Drums and background vocals too...
Marcus Sin- Guitar player, who didn't get to get off work for the audition...
Billy Blaze- our new 2nd guitar player... which will make the band more fuller and give us a back up! next time we do a show...Ha!
Baron Karza- Keyboardist very well trained and very good guy... very talented on the keys...

What was the very first rock Band you ever listened to ?
Most people always say they grew up listening to Led Zeppelin or the Beatles or the Stones... well I have to say "Donovan" my brother use to play that all the time when I was a kid...
Did that help form who you are today ?
No! I think bands like KISS, ALICE COOPER, TWISTED SISTER
Have any crazy stories from the studio or from out on the road ?
How many bands can Say' Chris Holmes came over to do tracks and eat some pizza...
I also, showed Zakk Wylde how to stain furniture while I was at Derek Sherinians house...
Tell us about your now famous Home Studio. The toilet in the "vocal room" is for sale on e-bay right ?
Hey! I do have a nice Studio! and now a famous Toilet! who would have known... that one flush and a old toilet in a garage would be such a topic or conversation piece... but, yes my whole band has signed it and I want to try to get a few other people to sign it too! it will make its way to Ebay soon...
What's the latest on the CD you've got out right now ? Give us background on the material :
