For Those with Metal in Their Veins...

FEATURED ARTIST - VIXEN

Interview by Downshifter

Metal Monthly: Thank you Vixen, for your time. Please tell our readers about Your Current lineup.

Vixen: Since 2001, the lineup has been founding member Jan Kuehnemund on guitar, lead vocalist Jenna Sanz-Agero, bass thunder provided by Lynn Louise Lowrey, and Kat Kraft on drums keeping us all in line.

Metal Monthly: Was Bands Reunited a big help in getting you all back together?

Vixen: Bands Reunited was a one-time thing in 2004. The lineup that recorded Vixen and Rev It Up are not together any longer and did not intend to be. We are all still friends and support each others other projects. We had a great time doing that show.

Metal Monthly: Are you playing the Hard Rock Hell Winter Ball in the Uk?

Vixen: Yes we are! This should be a really fun show. We'll be bringing a lot of classic Vixen songs as well as some new tracks to our UK fans.

Metal Monthly: Any new material on the horizon?

Vixen: Definitely. We're always writing new songs and sharing ideas. We've been so busy playing and promoting these past couple of years and Live & Learn is still being released in new territories all over the world so it's hard to get into the studio, but in time there will be a lot more from this lineup.

Metal Monthly: Biggest crowd you ever played to?

Vixen: In the early 90's, Vixen played to about 60,000 at Milton Keynes, England with Bon Jovi, Skid Row, Europe, etc.

Metal Monthly: What are you currently listening to on your ipod/cd player?

Vixen: Well, the first few that come to mind are the White Stripes, the Noisettes and the Across the Universe soundtrack.

Metal Monthly: If you could send one cd/album up in the space shuttle to be left on another planet, to be found by other life, what cd/album would you send to represent American Metal?

Vixen: That's a tough one! I think maybe Van Halen's first album "Van Halen" epitomizes American Metal best (though we'd want to put it on a compilation with some classic Vixen tunes as well)!

Metal Monthly: How important is the internet these days in promoting your music?

Vixen: It's critical. It would be impossible to reach so many parts of the world without it. And it's so fast!

Metal Monthly: Thank You Vixen, for your time, is there Anything you would like to add for our readers?

Vixen: We love our fans - thanks for your support and hope to see you in the coming year!
